Keeper of Myth

Some work I did for the Keeper of Myth Project for class...I really enjoyed this project. We were to design a trainer with a significant prop, and a mythological creature, trying to make the trainer's design or attire specific to the creature that he/she is training. I ended up using the two character designs at the top for the trainer and the mythological creature, the Menehune (from Polynesian mythology). The trainer's attire is reminiscent of Paupeuo the owl god, who is feared by the Menehune...attached around her ankles are bunches of bananas, the Menehune's favorite food - she uses them to award and tempt the nocturnal, hill dwelling creatures. She uses her prop, an ancient instrument, to call for them in hopes that she can train the creatures to protect her village. Lastly, some ideations. Currently working out a piece to show the two characters' relationship to each other. That's all for now. Enjoy!

Gibbon King

Some more work...these character pose ideations and photos are from a maquette project last semester. In brief, my character is this lazy but jolly and content Sumatran Gibbon King seen here munching on some scared little bugs. I do plan on revisiting the project to do more detailing.

Puppeteer sketch

To quickly start things off, I decided to post one of my character design ideations from class for our Travelling Puppeteer project. I actually had more fun drawing this guy than the two designs I wound up using for the project. More to come.

Something New

Welcome to my blog everyone... i thought that starting up a blog for myself would be a great way for me to share some of my work with the public. It's also inspired me to squeeze in a little more drawing time each day for myself and to push to explore different drawing styles. I'll be posting some of my stuff soon. Thank you for dropping by!
